Bridge to Terabithia is one of the best family/coming-of-age films of the 21st century, an underrated film that deserves much more praise and love, a smart adaptation of a literary classic. The characters are well written and well acted, especially the two protagonists played by Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb. The treatment of bullies is not without cliché characteristics but is saved with the help of the good acting from the kids. The direction is energetic and inspiring and the use of animation is excellent and adds a new dimension to the film (Weta did a great job with 3D animation here). Emotions are well balanced, the heart is on the right place, the movie is beautiful and very rewatchable.
